Ways to show your husband you love him

Husbands are unique. And one of the unique things about them is how they feel loved. Here are 3 important ways to show your husband that you love him.

  • Men and women share a lot of similarities. But they're also vastly different. And I don't just mean anatomically. Men have different drives, desires and motivations than women. And because men and women are different sometimes there are a lot of misunderstandings between the genders.
Nowhere are men's and women's differences more apparent than in how men and women feel loved. Because you love your husband you want him to know it. But because he's a man sometimes it's difficult for you to show him you love him in ways that he will see. So sometimes you feel like he really doesn't understand how much you love him. Well, here are three things you can do to show your husband that you really do care.
  • Plan the date once in a while

There's an unspoken expectation that men are supposed to be the ones to plan the date. And, usually, they're happy to do it. But after a while they begin to feel that it's misbalanced for them to always be the one to do it. After all, you're both married now so why does he have to be the one to do it all the time?
Planning the date shows your husband that you care about your marriage enough to break old gender stereotypes and plan the date once in a while. And this will show him that you care in big ways that he will see and appreciate.
  • Send random texts

Everyone has seen postcards that say something like "wish you were here." And when you received one of these postcards it makes you feel good that someone was thinking about you enough to lick a stamp and send it to you. It's not a big, long letter expressing undying love. It's just a simple postcard. But it still made you feel loved.
Nowadays, e-communication has taken the place of snail-mail and postcards. But e-communications can still have the same effect. And one of the ways of showing someone you're thinking of them is text messaging. When your husband gets a text message saying I love you it's like getting a "wish you were here" postcard to him. It makes him feel happy that you thought about him enough to send a simple message. Even though it's simple, he still likes it and knows that you love him.
  • Have sex with him...often

I know it's cliche. But this cliche is true. Men feel close to their wife when they know that you want (and like) to have sex with him. If you don't want to have sex with him, he begins to wonder why. He begins thinking that maybe you're not in love with him, or maybe there's something wrong with him. After all, when you're married there are no other reasons to not have sex.
Sex is a great way to show intimacy and passion in ways that you can't show with anyone else. So when your husband knows you want to have sex with him it makes him feel special. And he feels loved as a result.
Yes, men and women really are different. And nowhere is this more apparent than how men and women feel loved. But knowing these things can help you show love to your husband in ways that he sees and appreciates. And when he sees and appreciates how much you love him, you two will grow together in loving, intimate ways that you never knew you could.

Dream Boldly

Dream Boldly
TODAY'S SCRIPTURE:
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go
Joshua 1:9, NIV
TODAY'S WORD:
When you look out into your future, what do you see? What are the dreams and desires that you hold close to your heart?

So many people start with bold dreams, but then opposition comes. Life doesn’t turn out the way they planned. They lose a loved one or encounter difficulty they didn’t anticipate. Today, if that’s you, I want to remind you that the Creator of the universe designed you with specific gifts and talents that no one else has. He has you on this planet for a specific purpose. When you commit your life to Him, He promises to be with you wherever you go. Even though some things in life may have caught you by surprise, they didn’t catch God by surprise. His good plan for your life remains. You can trust Him because He loves you with an everlasting love, and He doesn’t want to see you settling for anything less than His very best.

I want to encourage you to be bold, be strong and be courageous. Put aside the past and lift up your eyes to Jesus. He is the Author and Finisher of your faith. Live boldly and dream boldly so you can embrace the good things He has in store for you!
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Father God, today I come boldly to You. I open my heart and mind to Your Word. Fill me with Your strength today; fill me with Your hope, and keep me close to You always as I put You first in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Following God’s Laws Restores Your Health
by Rick Warren
“I will never lay aside your laws, for you have used them to restore my joy and health.” (Psalm 119:93 TLB)
God’s Word is full of commands that are meant to protect you and give you life. If God says to do something, he means for you to do it, and if he says not to do something, you shouldn’t do it. So why should you follow God’s Word? Why should you make this book your standard?
Because the Bible is dependable because it doesn’t change. Fads change, opinions change — even science changes. By the time a science textbook is in print, it’s already out of date! A few weeks ago I threw out a thick stack of computer books because they’re all worthless and irrelevant — wrong operating systems and wrong programs. Everything changes, but God’s Word doesn’t change, because the truth never changes.
During an interview, Alan Shepherd, the first American astronaut in space, was asked, “What are you depending on?” Shepherd replied, “That God’s laws will not change.” That’s a pretty good answer! What if gravity worked every other day?
God’s laws are immutable. They are unchanging. If you want to get healthy again emotionally, relationally, physically, or any other way, you need to make Jesus Christ the manager of your life and you need to make God’s Word the authority of your life.
And, you need to make the commitments David did in Psalm 119:112 — “I have made up my mind to obey your laws forever, no matter what” (CEV) — and in Psalm 119:93: “I will never lay aside your laws, for you have used them to restore my joy and health” (TLB). Have you made the commitment to obey God’s laws forever — no matter what? God promises to restore your joy and health if you’ll just do what he says to do and exhibit true meekness, where you let go and let God.
Talk It Over
  • What parts of the Bible are more difficult for you to obey or follow?
  • How have you seen God restore your joy because of your obedience?
