Last year of this time, I was with my friend April. I met her in our church. She’s a woman with a good heart. We shared each other’s thoughts and ideas. We really had a great ‘girl talk’. We discussed about food, life, heart, financial management, business and so on. It was fun to be with her. Like her, she’s a good cook. It’s her passion to share it on her blog. As she listened to my stories and hobbies, she initiated to come up with my own blog too. She encouraged me to publish and share my interest on website for many people to read around the world… which is now the Salt and Pepper.

‘Salt and Pepper’ was an article that summarized my life during the first two years after my 40 days journey with Christ. It was so remarkable and indeed amazing. I truly appreciated the life beyond those years. I experienced both the ups and downs. Pain and laughter. Love and lost. Life and death. Sadness and happiness… Indeed, life is a gift. Irretrievable.  Irreplaceable.

Looking back those times, the hobbies became a habit. It was the fruit after 40 days. The Love that God brought inside my heart after the journey changed my life. The happiness, contentment, forgiveness, love and joy inside was overflowing and I can’t help it but to share. The starting point was through emails then Friendster, Facebook and eventually… this thing happened.

I believed that God’s guidance was with me all the way. The tests were quite so tough and difficult but by God’s grace and goodness, it became so manageable. I learned to be more submissive in His sovereign power and divine intervention by trusting and loving more. I respect my own growing process and not to rely on my own strength and intellect. Understanding and Patience helped me along the way as I embraced Optimism too. Freedom was the medium for my growth as I nourished Love every step of my way. Not to forget Gratitude that made my heart healthy and Humility that reminded me to always keep my feet on the ground. Lastly, Forgiveness that melted all barriers and walls so that Love itself will continue to grow.

These are only few of the things I’m truly grateful for until now. Hoping that I can still be able to touch other people’s lives by the hands of God. I’m so happy seeing my other fruits. They are the people who have touched by God through me. The happiness is truly priceless and immeasurable every time we come together. There is a bonding agent and that’s His Spirit, the Holy Spirit that brings so much joy and fathomless Love. Indescribable.

Enjoy Life. Embrace it. Savour each day as if it is the last day of our lives. Be grateful for all our senses. Sight. Touch. Taste. Smell. Hearing. All are more than a million. Believe that it’s always a priceless gift from God to appreciate and use. Indeed, let us take another extra mile and time again to ponder and discover the wonder of life beyond with Salt and Pepper.  =)

A Blessed Happy Anniversary! =)

Swept Away

Romans 12:3

3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement,
in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.
Romans 12:3

Established in Love

Established in Love

Today's Scripture:
" May you be rooted deep in love and founded securely on love"(Ephesians 3:17, AMP).

Today's Word:
Did you know there is tremendous power in love? In the same way that a tree will grow taller and stronger when its roots grow deep, you will be stronger and rise higher when you are rooted and established in love.

How do you establish yourself in love? It starts with a choice. When you say 'yes' to love, you are saying 'yes' to everything God is because God is love! Then, choose to operate in love according to 1 Corinthians 13. That means being patient and kind. It means not seeking your own way, not being jealous or boastful. When you choose love instead of choosing your own way, you are showing the world that God is first place in your life. You are establishing yourself in love. The more you choose to walk in love, the deeper and stronger your roots will grow.

Remember, love is the greatest thing, and it is all that will last in eternity. Choose to establish yourself in love and let it be firm within you. Let His love build security in you and empower you to live the life of blessing He has in store for you.

Prayer for Today:
Heavenly Father, I choose to be established in Your love. Show me how to love others the way You love me. Thank You for setting me free and empowering me to live the good life You have prepared for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen.

“Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it .... Do you not realize by an ever increasing experience that Jesus Christ is in you?” (2 Corinthians 13:5 AMP)
An unexamined experience is worthless.
There are people who are 50 years old who haven’t lived 50 years. They’ve lived one year 50 times. They’re still making the same mistakes, because they never stop and extract the lessons. They never stop to ask, “What happened in this last year, and what can I do differently so that I am living life better?”
The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 13:5, “Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it .... Do you not realize by an ever increasing experience that Jesus Christ is in you?” (AMP)
What does that mean? It means you take some time to review the experiences of your life, and you look for two things:
Look for benefits. What did you really enjoy in your life? Don’t just say, “I really enjoyed that job.” Ask, “What was it about that job that I really loved?” Don’t just say, “I really liked that class.” Ask, “What exactly about that class did I like? Why was it so fulfilling to me?” You’ll get little clues about where you should be headed with your life.
Look for patterns. Particularly, you want to look for patterns in your failure. Because when you fail, you do it the same way every time. So you look and say, “Where have I failed in the past? What are the patterns that I keep repeating?” You don’t look at it to beat yourself up but because you want to be different. Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. This was the problem with the Israelites. Their trip to the Promised Land should have only taken four weeks, not 40 years. But they refused to learn from their experiences and God’s tests. Each failed test meant one more lap around the desert.
The Bible says in Job 32:7, “The longer you live, the wiser you become” (MSG). That verse is a possibility, not a promise. I know a lot of people who are old and dumb. Wisdom does not automatically come with age. Maturity is when you extract meaning from the everyday experiences of life.
The amazing thing about the school of experience is this: One, if you fail the test, it’s OK. You get to take it over — and over and over and over until you pass it. Second, just about the time you think you’ve graduated, they add another course. You will be in that school the rest of your life.
Talk It Over
  • What are the experiences in the last year that you can learn from?
  • What is the evidence of maturity and wisdom in your life?

Romans 12:19

19 Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath,
for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] says the Lord.
Romans 12:19

Catch the Wave

Catch the Wave

Today's Scripture:
Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.Psalm 42:7, NIV.

Today's Word:
Friend, I believe God wants to release a flood of His power in your life. Not a trickle, not a stream, not a river, but a flood. A flood of increase, a flood of healing, a flood of ideas. Don’t get stuck in a rut believing for small things. Don’t settle where you are because you think you’ve reached your limits. No, you need to get ready. I can see something in your future. Through my eyes of faith, I can see a tidal wave coming your way. It’s not a wave of defeat, a wave of bad breaks, a wave of more of the same. No, things have shifted. It’s a wave of increase, a wave of favor, a wave of healing! It’s God releasing His goodness like a flood. It’s going to help you to overcome that obstacle. It’s going to cause you to accomplish your dreams.

Today, why don’t you dare to believe? Don’t just think “trickle.” Switch over into faith and start thinking “flood.” If you’ll believe for His overflow, God can bring you into overflow. If you’ll dare to believe “tidal wave,” then God will release a tidal wave of His goodness in your life!

Prayer for Today:
Father, today I lift my heart to You to receive the tidal wave of goodness You have prepared for me. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to You, my King in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“Remember today what you have learned about the Lord through your experiences with him.” (Deuteronomy 11:2 TEV)
You must embrace the experiences of your life — the good ones, the bad ones, the shameful ones, the right ones, the wrong ones, the happy, and the sad ones — and stop running from your past if God’s going to use it for good in your life.
Galatians 3:4 says, “Were all your experiences wasted? I hope not” (NCV). Don’t run away from your past. Because of pain, many people deny their past, ignore their past, discount their past, regret their past, or resent their past. They revise their past and make up stories because they’re happier dealing with the lie than the pain of the past. But if you’re in denial, God can’t use your experience for good.
God can use every experience in your life for good, but you’ve got to stop running from them. You have to embrace your experiences. Maybe your parents weren’t that great, maybe you weren’t that hot in school, maybe you weren’t the football captain or the prom queen — so what? They’re your experiences. Own them.
Stop pushing the bad experiences out of your mind. You’ve got to remember them. Deuteronomy 11:2 says, “Remember today what you have learned about the Lord through your experiences with him” (TEV).
That verse is saying that the important thing is to remember the lessons. How do you do that? The best way to remember the lessons and experiences of your life is to keep a journal. I’m not talking about a diary. A diary is a list of what you did: “Today I went to the store and bought milk.” You don’t necessarily write in a journal every day. But every time you have an important lesson, you write it down so you won’t forget it: “That was painful. I learned that the hard way. I don’t want to forget that.”
To remember what you’ve learned about God, you need to keep a journal. Then, you can look back and remember what God taught you so you can be encouraged in the dark times of your life and know that God is still working for your good.
Talk It Over
  • Is it important to you to remember God's faithfulness and answered prayer? What do you do to help you remember?

  • If you are "not a writer," what are some ways you can keep a record of God's lessons besides paper and pen?
