How to be profoundly simple in sharing the Gospel

by Ptr. Graham

For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are. 1 Corinthians 1:26-28

I remember when I was newer to the faith, and I would hear someone teaching who just didn’t seem to make any sense at all. He would have me so confused! So I would just shake my head and say, “Well, he must be brilliant because I can’t understand him.”

But as I grew in my faith, I came to understand that Jesus’ teachings were really simple, and the common people connected with His message. He talked about sheep, corn, home, and money—things people understood. He was profoundly simple and simply profound in His communication of His message.

As I look at many Christians today, I see people overwhelmed by teachers who complicate the Gospel so much that it can hardly be understood. And what’s needed today is solid, practical teaching that clearly communicates the love of Christ to a hungry world.

So when it comes to sharing the Gospel, keep it simple. Tell others Jesus died for their sins, and that by faith they can have eternal life in Him. When you communicate clearly, others will understand and respond, and you’ll see their lives changed by the power of the Gospel!

SHARE THE SIMPLE GOSPEL MESSAGE WITH OTHERS: THAT CHRIST DIED FOR THEM AND THEY CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE THROUGH FAITH.
