“The Good News about God’s kingdom will be preached in all the world, to every nation. Then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14 NCV)
History’s conclusion is inevitable.
I believe this with all my heart. It’s a fait accompli. It’s done. It’s finished. There’s no doubt. I’ve read the final chapter. God’s Word tells us how it’s going to end. One day God’s going to wrap it all up here on Earth, and he’s going to take his children home to Heaven to be with him forever. The Bible says, “The Good News about God’s kingdom will be preached in all the world, to every nation. Then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14 NCV).
I’m going to tell you something really important. The critics always get this wrong. Saddleback Church is not trying to bring in God’s Kingdom here on Earth through our efforts with The PEACE Plan. We are trying to populate the Kingdom of Heaven. We want to take all our friends and everybody else with us. Our goal is not to set up a kingdom here on Earth. Our goal is to get people in the Kingdom of Heaven so they can be with God for eternity.
The convictions we’ve been talking about for the last few days are really about the glory of God. God gets glory when you love him with all your heart. God gets glory when you love other people in the family of God. God gets glory when you love the people who are unlovable. God gets glory when you share the Good News with everybody. God gets glory when you trust him with problems in your life that cannot be solved except through a miracle. And God gets glory when you know and trust that the end is inevitable and that God wins.
Would you pray this simple prayer today?
“Dear Jesus Christ, I want to be a part of what you’re doing in the world. I believe you want to use me. I want to return to my first love — you. I want to be your hands and feet in the 21st century. Help me to believe and live by my convictions. In your name I pray. Amen.”
Today’s Scripture
“The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it...”
(Psalm 24:1, AMP)

Living the Full Life
God wants you to live an abundant and satisfied life. He wants you to enjoy the fullness of the earth and life’s experiences. When you open your mind to new things and new situations, you are broadening your horizons and opening yourself to new opportunities.
It’s easy to get stuck in a rut, doing the same thing the same way all the time. But when you open yourself to new people and new ideas, you are making room for God to reveal Himself to you. You are making room for Him to work in your life. Make the decision to explore something new this week. Take a different route home from work. Try something new on the menu at lunch. Be open to new people who may not necessarily look like you or act like you. Let God direct and broaden your horizons. As you do, you’ll encounter new opportunities and live the satisfied, full life the Lord has in store for you!
A Prayer for Today
“Heavenly Father, I open my heart and mind to You today. I ask that You help me broaden my perspective so I can experience the full life You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
