For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

--Ephesians 2:8-9

After all these years of being a Christian, God’s grace still amazes me.

His grace that is eternal, extravagant, illogical, outrageous, immeasurable, and indescribable. His grace means that we can experience not only salvation, but security, strength, sustenance, and satisfaction in life.

And what’s amazing is that grace is a gift. But more than a gift, it is a free gift!

And more than a free gift, it is a gift that is given to those of us who are totally and completely unworthy of this amazing gift.

Grace is the unmerited, unmitigated, kindness and favor of God that is given to those who do not deserve it. That’s why God’s grace is so amazing!

So let me ask you: Have you accepted God’s grace?

His grace is the only thing that will set you free from your sin, from your shame, from your brokenness, and from your bitterness. His grace will make you a brand new person!

Grace is God’s lifeline to the lost. It is infinite. And it is immeasurable.

GRACE IS THE UNMERITED, UNMITIGATED, KINDNESS AND FAVOR OF GOD THAT IS GIVEN TO THOSE WHO DO NOT DESERVE IT.

God with His People

by Dr. Paul Chappell
“And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.”
Luke 7:16–17

John Edwin Watts-Ditchfield, who pastored for many years in England, told the story of a visit he paid to an elderly relative when he was a small boy. On the wall of her house was a framed work of embroidery that read: “Thou God seest me.” Watts-Ditchfield recalled that she told him, “When you are older, people will tell you that God is always watching you to see when you do wrong, in order to punish you. I do not want you to think of it in that way, but I want you to take the text home, and to remember all your life that God loves you so much He cannot take his eyes off you.”
Though God had worked in mighty ways throughout the history of Israel, in the time of Christ the people had not seen or heard much of God for centuries. He had been silent until the arrival of John the Baptist. Once Jesus began His ministry and people were hearing about the miracles He was performing, there was a real sense of excitement. News quickly spread that God was present and at work, and people flocked to find out what was going on.
While in a human body, Jesus could only physically be in one place at a time. Now every believer has the Holy Spirit living within them, and God’s presence is a continual reality in our lives. Yet, many Christians do not live in a way that reflects His presence. Rather than rejoicing in His love and nearness, we try to go it alone. Instead we should fully rely on Him.

Today’s Growth Principle:
The measure of God’s love for us is seen in His daily presence in our lives through the Holy Spirit.
