Organizational Behavior - Individual Assignment by Meg

 Dealing with Unpredictable Boss

Abstract

A big part of our daily routine at work is to deal with people especially our boss. As ordinary employees, we have the capacity and ability to create and respond on the situation whereby doing the right thing at the right time is a must. Mutual respect and appreciation will enable us to perform well at work however; knowing that we cannot control everything such as having an unpredictable boss is a challenging task to be considered. It is not quite easy but by learning to know how people react, think, say or do will eventually help a lot in dealing with this issue. Observing is the key to understanding in as much as self-control. Patience has something to do with the time in analyzing, processing and resolving the conflict. More so, the importance of emotional intelligence in the work place is really of great value. Recognizing that everyone is unique on its own way and in as much as having different personalities will broaden and widen our own perspective to be more assertive, proactive and calm.  Despite of having an unpredictable boss, it doesn't necessarily mean that employees will no longer excel on their work place. By understanding our own set of values and learning the processes identified, it will somehow ease the burden in dealing with this challenging issue. The unchanging good qualities that we have will somehow shape our unpredictable boss to change and grow to be more approachable, friendly and easy to deal with if and only if we never ever changed.
