“And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” (Ephesians 3:18-19 NLT, second edition)
The width of God’s love extends across the entire world and includes all people: “The Lord is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does” (Psalm 145:17 NIV). God loves the whole world (John 3:16).
God never made a person that he didn’t love. He made you; he loves you. And God doesn’t make junk! He loves you unconditionally. He loves you very, very, very, very, very much.
Everybody matters to God. In fact, we see in the life of Jesus that he even loves the unlovely and those who may feel unlovable. Do you want to know the secret of self-esteem? Here it is: If you want confidence, then understand how much you matter to God. If God loves you, who cares what anybody else thinks?
Because God loves us, there’s no need to prove our self worth. We don’t need props anymore to make us feel good about ourselves. We don’t have to wear certain kinds of clothes to make us feel like we’re OK or drive a certain kind of car to prop up our faltering egos. We don’t need status symbols anymore.
You may not be able to understand it fully, but you can accept it and let it change your life: God loves you!

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

    --1 John 3:1-3

As a believer, you are God’s child.  And in a day and age when people yearn so deeply for some form of security in our world, this is a message of comfort and hope for all of us.

As a son or daughter of God, you have security in knowing you have a heavenly Father who is faithful. You can depend on Him because He will never fail you!

Perhaps you, like many people, grew up without knowing any security from your earthly parents. Today, I want to repeat that you have a heavenly Father who is faithful and unflinching in His love for you!

As His child, there is nothing—NOTHING—you can do to make God love you any more than He already loves you because He loves you perfectly! And there’s nothing you can do to cause God to love you any less.

Remember what Romans 8:38 and 39 say: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I hope these words from our Lord encourage your heart today.  And that you will understand that you are eternally secure in Jesus Christ!

As a believer, you are eternally secure in the love of God through Jesus Christ!
