By the Breath of God

By the Breath of God

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
…Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.
Zechariah 4:6, NIV.

TODAY’S WORD
In the original Hebrew, the word “spirit” in today’s verse literally means “breath.” This scripture is saying that the breakthroughs that are coming in our lives are not going to happen just by our talent, our connections or who we know. It’s going to happen because God breathes in our direction. God will shift the winds that blow healing, promotion and restoration our way.

How are you going to get well? The medical report may say it’s impossible. But when God breathes on you, health, wholeness and restoration are headed toward you. How are you going to accomplish your dreams? You may not know the right people or have enough money or feel like you have the talent. No, God is breathing and sending ideas, resources and the right connections your direction. If you will stay faithful and keep honoring and obeying God, then suddenly things will change. Suddenly, you will come into abundance. Suddenly, your child will turn around. Suddenly, you will get well. Suddenly, the breath of God will shift things in every area of your life!

PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for breathing in my direction. Thank You for restoring life, peace, health and wholeness to my body and mind. I bless You today and receive the supernatural shifts You have prepared for me in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

***
“The Lord reached down from above and took hold of me; he pulled me out of the deep waters.” (Psalm 18:16 TEV)
There are times when we all think, “I’m going under for the last time! I’m about to sink!” No matter how deep you are, God’s love is deeper than your problem.
Corrie ten Boom and Betsy ten Boom were Christians who lived in the Netherlands during Word War II. They hid Jews in their home to protect them from the Nazis. When they were discovered, not only were the Jews taken to the concentration camp, but Corrie and Betsy were taken as well, and they spent the rest of the war there.
After watching one atrocity after another, Corrie told Betsy, “This place is the pit of Hell!” Betsy replied, “There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper.”
In the last few months, you may have hit bottom financially and thought, “I am going broke!” Or, maybe you’ve hit bottom emotionally, or your marriage has hit bottom, or you’re having health problems. You’re frustrated and can't help but think, “I’m going under.”
Where is God when you hit bottom? He’s right there underneath you. He is “your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you” (Deuteronomy 33:27b NLT).
Drop into his arms of love. Let him catch you and support you when you have nowhere else to go.
Talk About It
- How deep is God's love? Deep enough to handle anything! What pain or hurt or problem do you need to hand over to him today?
- How should an eternal perspective — God's "everlasting arms are under you" — change your attitude toward your problems?
