Positive Thinking

Bridget Menezes

The global situation may look gloomy, but I choose to take a positive point of view.

If we fail to look at ourselves, nature will create conditions compelling us to do so.

This is exactly what is happening today as we face problems such as pollution, deforestation and open burning.

The word ‘positive’, is a symbol of growth. It is something which elevates, enriches, expands and grows. After all, one is part of the whole and can survive only as long as the whole survives.

One gives only to receive, maybe in a different form, because when you look at the bigger picture, there is no difference between giving and receiving, only a matter of exchange. Thus, such an approach is always growth-oriented.

The word ‘thinking’, is also important. Just the art of thinking positive can keep us constantly happy.

But can we maintain our positivity when so much is wrong with the world, including ourselves?

It is true that when we are weak, we can’t do anything about such feelings. They take us over.

However, although weakness may be widespread, it is not our natural condition.

Each of us is naturally powerful.  Power in this inner context means something akin to the French expression ‘joie de vivre.

It means being well stocked with the energy of positive thought and feeling, and knowing how to use and maintain those stocks effectively.

In this powerful state, feel love for the self, for others, for life.

When you begin to think positively, you accumulate power. Your self confidence and effectiveness increase.

When you allow negative thoughts to come, it is as if a leak develops in the vessel of the soul.

Lastly, in order to carry a positive action, we must develop here a positive vision.
